Description of the Ship

The Jantje launched in 1930 on behalf of Mr. Bakker from Den Helder as a trawler "Ennie en Appie" HD 25 at the shipyard Van Goor in Monnickendam from the stack. Until 1969, she was actively involved in fishing and during this time there was a frequent change of owners and home ports. In 1977, Harry and Marian Müter discovered the Jantje. They converted the ship into a sailing ship for charter guests, choosing the still very impressive traditional rigging.

In the years 1993/1994 another conversion of the furnishing occurred. In 2005, Marten Munstra and Erik Kuiper acquired the ship; In the winter of 2015/16, the Jantje was rebuilt again in the inside.

The Jantje is a seafaring ship with the appearance of a historic ship sailed in the days of the great explorers. With the square sails and the highly entrenched hull the Jantje is an impressive appearance. The nice, dedicated crew also brings you closer to active sailing on this ship: you can participate in all the actions on board, steer the ship and help set the sails.

In the summer months, the Jantje sails special trips for individual travelers
